Welcome 2010

Welcome back from Track E Intercession break. Everyone should be well rested and ready to move forward. During the winter break we celebrated the end of the first decade of the 21st century and welcomed 2010.

What are your goals for the new year?

Winter Break Intercession

On December 14, 2009 our Winter Break Intercession begins. What will you do during this time to make sure you are ready to pick up where you left off when you return on January 4, 2010?

Thoughts on Track E

This year school began for us on August 10, 2009 as we made the conversion to a Track E schedule. While it was difficult to come back so early, we recently had a two week intercession break. What are your thoughts about our new schedule? Do you think a Track E schedule will benefit you? Will it help May Community Academy? Why or why not?

President Obama's Back to School Speech

On September 8, 2009 President Obama addressed the Nation's schoolchildren challenging them to set goals for this year and take responsibility for their learning. Consider responding to one of the following questions:

#1. Who do you feel is ultimately responsible for how well you do in school: your government, your teachers, your parent, yourself? Why?

#2. President Obama stated in his speech, "Every single one of you has something you're good at. Every single one of you has something to offer." What are you good at? What do you have to offer May Community Academy?
