Literacy Week

This week (May 10th) kicks off Literacy Week. During this week there will be several events to celebrate. We began with a kick off parade and will have "author share", "deck the door", and "pass the pen" activities.

Let's add to the festivities! Please share your thoughts on any of the following:

*do you like to read to others or read by yourself?
*any additional comments you would like to make about literacy?

Your Views on Technology

This May Mrs. Zumpano will accompany 1st grade students to Springfield to participate in our second year of Tech 2010. On this day students from around Illinois will set up technology project displays in the State Capitol Building to show our government how technology is benefiting our students.

Mrs. Zumpano will create a brochure about technology featured at May. Within this brochure she will feature quotes from students and adults. Please respond to the following prompt- your quote may be included!

How do you feel about using technology in school? Do you think it helps you? Would school be any different if technology wasn't available? Have the school website, school blog, lesson plan blogs, teacher blogs, student blogs, computer lab, laptop cart, or any other technology made a difference for you?

Welcome 2010
